PDA Series: Working with the Mega-Source: Research in the Age of AI

PDA Series: Working with the Mega-Source: Research in the Age of AI Online

Session Details:  This session will explore the manner in which generative AI can be used as a tool in the research process as well as its limitations.  Research and media literacy are changing as a result of AI usage, and realization of those shifts will be essential to remaining engaged with our patrons and the transitions that are underway in research and learning.  With a stronger understanding of AI tools, librarians can emerge as leaders of best practice of this new technology.

Presenter DetailsSylvie Daubar-San Juan holds an MLIS degree and an MA in Art History.  She works as a Learning Resources Librarian at Miami Dade College - Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami.  An article she wrote was published in the Fall/Winter 2022-2023 issue of Florida Libraries, and she served on the editorial board of the most recent issue.  She was recently a presenter at the 2024 FLA Conference in Orlando.
